The agricultural support tax refund is a practice that allows farmers to reclaim taxes withheld from government agricultural support payments, provided certain conditions are met. Agricultural subsidies are granted by the state to reduce production costs and encourage farming activities. However, if income tax is deducted from these payments, farmers may be entitled to request a refund of the withheld amount.
To benefit from this refund:
• The person must be actively engaged in agricultural activities,
• They must have received government agricultural support payments,
• Income tax must have been withheld from these payments,
• A formal refund application must be submitted.
This refund mechanism helps ease farmers’ financial burden and supports the sustainability of agricultural production.

To reclaim taxes withheld from agricultural support payments, an official application is required. Applications are submitted online through the İnteraktif Vergi Dairesi (Interactive Tax Office).
Application Process
You can access the Interactive Tax Office using one of the following methods:
• User code and password (Internet Tax Office, Ready Declaration System, Bookkeeping Declaration System, or e-Declaration System password)
• e-Devlet password
• Registering via the “Sign Up with e-Government” option
• Obtaining a password by applying in person at the tax office
After logging in, you can reach the refund request form in two ways:
Method 1:
Start Transaction → Tax Procedures → Income Tax Withholding Refund Request Petition within the Scope of Agricultural Support Payments
Method 2:
Use the search bar (“How can I help you?” section) and type keywords such as “Agricultural” or “Support” to access the relevant form.
During the application, the following information must be entered:
• Contact details (phone number and address)
• Bank account information
• Information regarding any lawsuits filed for periods dated January 1, 2016, and after (if applicable)
After completing the required fields, the petition should be reviewed on the summary page and approved. The system automatically forwards the application to the authorized tax office.
You can monitor the status of your application through the “My Petitions” section.
If the evaluation result is positive, the refund amount will be transferred directly to the farmer’s bank account.
There is no fixed timeline for when the refund will be paid. The processing time depends on:
• The date of application
• The tax office’s review process
• Whether the submitted documents are complete
In practice, tax refunds are typically finalized within two to six months. In some cases, payments may be made in installments.

Farmers applying for a refund must prepare the following documents:
• Official document proving receipt of agricultural support payments
• Document showing the amount of tax withheld
• The refund petition submitted through the Interactive Tax Office
If the tax office determines that the application meets the necessary criteria, the refund will be processed.
Important Note
Farmers may only submit digital applications for tax withholdings made in their own name.
Applications submitted on behalf of someone else (as a proxy, guardian, trustee, or heir) must be delivered in writing to the relevant tax office, either in person or by mail.
The withholding rate varies depending on the type and amount of agricultural support received. Generally, income tax is deducted at a specific percentage. To recover the deducted amount, farmers must submit a formal refund request.
The agricultural support tax refund is an important mechanism that helps farmers avoid financial losses and reduce production costs. Completing the application process accurately and thoroughly ensures a faster evaluation and payment process.
Although the digital system simplifies the procedure, careful monitoring of the application remains essential.
